mi cuerpo cuir//my queer body

Artist: Luka/Isa Gidwani

Colorful body painting in purple with rainbow around the body

I created this as a reflection of coming to understand my identity in relation to my body and how my mind perceives its appearance and functions. As someone who is transgender, more specifically genderfluid, at times it is hard to comprehend my body and its appearance in respect to my identity. Regardless, i still thank my body for its existence and love it for what it is. I don't want to live up to any cisnormative bodily expectations that are forced onto many trans people and I actively reject it. It has taken a lot of heartbreak and pain to get to this level of self love and acceptance but the universe has opened its arms to me and allows me to be who i am
