UCLA Student Health Education and Promotion (SHEP)
Robin Fong

2nd Year

Pre-Human Biology and Society Major

Why did you become a Peer Health Educator Intern (PHEI)?

I want to provide [students] with a proper education in health and wellness that will enable them to have more agency over their own health... While I am deeply passionate about nutrition and body image issues, I realize that each experience is so individual. As a PHEI I am learning how to best go about helping others while fulfilling my passions.

What is the greatest value that you have gotten from the PHEI experience?

As a PHEI I am able to pursue my passions in nutritional sciences and public health. Aside from aiding me in my own education and connecting me with various health and wellness organizations on campus, SHEP has granted me the extremely gratifying experience of sharing what I have learned with other UCLA students.

Fun fact:I jumped out of a plane 1,600 ft in the air.
